How do I set my store name and change it later in Shopify?

When you first create a Shopify account, you will be asked to choose a store name. This name appears on your website, invoices, and in your Shopify admin. Choose a name that is easy to remember and represents your brand clearly.

Step 1: Set your store name during sign-up
While signing up for Shopify, enter your desired store name in the setup form. Shopify will check if the name is available. Once accepted, your store name is registered and used throughout your account.

Step 2: Change your store name later
If you want to update your store name later, log in to your Shopify admin. Go to Settings > General > Store details. In the “Store name” field, enter your new name and click “Save.” Your admin panel and customer-facing emails will reflect the new name immediately.

Step 3: Important notes
Changing the store name does not automatically update your store’s web address (URL). If you want your URL to match your new store name, you may need to update your custom domain or purchase a new one. Always pick a name that is clear and memorable for your customers.

By knowing the correct path to update your store name in Settings → General → Store details, you can keep your brand professional and consistent as your business grows.
