Shopify automatically combines your online store and in-store (POS) sales into unified reports, so you can track total revenue, orders, and performance across all channels without manual data merging.

View Combined Online and In-Store Sales

Total Sales Over Time (All Channels)

  1. Go to Analytics → Reports.
  2. Open Total sales over time.
  3. Select your desired date range.

This report shows combined sales from:

  • Online Store
  • Point of Sale (all locations)
  • Social channels
  • Marketplaces
  • Draft orders and other sales channels

You can group data by day, week, month, quarter, or year to analyze trends.

Filter by Sales Channel

To compare online and in-store sales separately:

  1. Open Total sales over time.
  2. Click Filters.
  3. Select Sales channel.
  4. Choose Online Store or Point of Sale.
  5. Click Apply.

You can also use “is one of” to compare multiple channels together.

Total Sales by Sales Channel Report

  1. Go to Analytics → Reports.
  2. Open Total sales by sales channel.

This report shows a side-by-side breakdown of each channel, including:

  • Total sales per channel
  • Number of orders
  • Percentage contribution to overall revenue

Use this report to quickly compare online vs. in-store performance.

View POS-Only Performance

POS Overview

  1. Go to Sales channels → Point of Sale.
  2. Click Overview.

This shows retail-specific metrics like gross sales, refunds, average order value, and staff performance.

Retail Sales Reports

  1. Go to Analytics → Reports.
  2. Filter reports by Retail.

These reports focus only on in-store POS sales.

Create Custom Combined Reports

  1. Go to Analytics → Reports.
  2. Click Create custom report or new exploration.
  3. Add Net sales or Total sales as a metric.
  4. Add Sales channel as a dimension.
  5. Apply filters and save.

This allows you to compare online and in-store sales by month, product, or location.

Export Sales Reports

  1. Open any report.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Download as CSV or PDF.

Exports include combined omnichannel data for deeper analysis in Excel or Google Sheets.

Summary

Shopify automatically unifies online and in-store sales in Analytics reports. Use Total sales over time for combined data, Total sales by sales channel for comparisons, and POS Overview for retail insights. Custom reports allow deeper omnichannel analysis without manual calculations.
