How do I add custom sections or blocks to a Shopify theme?

Step 1 – Open your theme editor

Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes. Click Customize next to your active theme.

Step 2 – Choose the page you want to edit

At the top, click the page selector dropdown → choose Home, Product, Collection, Page, or Blog where you want to add a section.

Step 3 – Add a new section

In the left panel, click + Add section → Select a section type like Banner, Image, Slideshow, FAQ, Testimonials, or Custom content → The section instantly appears on your page.

Step 4 – Customize your section

Click the section name → Edit headings, text, buttons, colors, images, and layout → Changes show live on your screen.

Step 5 – Add blocks inside a section

Open the section → Click + Add block → Choose block type (Text, Button, Image, Video, Link, etc.) → Drag blocks up or down to arrange your content.

Step 6 – Rearrange, duplicate, or remove

Use drag-and-drop to move sections and blocks → Right-click to duplicate → Click the eye icon to hide → Click delete if not needed.

Step 7 – Save your changes

Click Save to make your new section and blocks live on your store.
