Shopify allows you to customize all automatic customer email notifications such as order confirmation, shipping updates, account emails, and more. You can change your logo, brand colors, language, and individual email content directly from your Shopify admin.

Before editing email templates

Before you can edit email subjects and content, you must confirm your sender email address.

Add your logo to all email templates

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Click Customer notifications.
  3. Click Customize email template.
  4. Click Choose file and upload your logo.
  5. Click Save.

Choose brand colors for all email templates

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Click Customer notifications.
  3. Click Customize email template.
  4. Change the Accent color using the color picker or HEX code.
  5. Click Save.

Change language of email templates

  • If no template edits are made, changing your theme language also updates email language.
  • If you edited templates manually, language does not auto-change.
  • Multi-language stores send emails in customer language automatically.

Customize individual email templates

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Select the notification category (Orders, Shipping, Account, etc.).
  3. Click the email you want to change.
  4. Click Edit code.
  5. Edit the Email subject and Email body (HTML).
  6. Click Save.

Add a custom message to notifications

You can add custom order messages that appear in emails such as order confirmation, shipping confirmation, and invoice emails.

Style email templates using inline CSS

You can apply inline CSS to adjust fonts, spacing, and layout directly inside the HTML email body.

Important notes

  • Templates use HTML + Liquid
  • Changes apply to all future emails
  • You can restore default templates anytime

Result

Your Shopify store emails will now fully match your branding, improve trust, and look professional for every customer interaction.
